GPL-3.0 licensed Local-first SQLite No telemetry account

Why is it free?

Built in the open

The full source lives on GitHub. You can read it, fork it, audit it, or ship a private build. The license is GPL-3.0 — the same one that backs Linux, GIMP, and Inkscape.

No billing surface

There is no plan picker, no seat counter, no quota meter. Every release ships every feature to every user. The design space is smaller because the product is smaller.

Your data stays local

Tasks, terminals, and git worktrees live on your disk in SQLite. SlayZone never asks for your API keys — they stay in your shell. There is no cloud account to monetise later.

Pricing FAQ

Will SlayZone ever introduce a paid tier?
No. SlayZone is fully free and open source under GPL-3.0. There is no Pro, no Premium, no Team plan, no usage caps, no feature gating. The entire app is the free version.
Do I need to create an account?
No account required. SlayZone runs entirely on your machine. Your tasks, terminals, and git worktrees live in a local SQLite database. Nothing is uploaded.
How is this sustainable without revenue?
SlayZone is built in the open as a focused, single-purpose tool. The work that would go into billing, plan tiers, license checks, and account management is spent on shipping features instead.
Can I use SlayZone commercially?
Yes. GPL-3.0 permits commercial use. Use it inside your company, on client work, or as part of a paid product — the license terms apply to the SlayZone source itself, not to the code you write inside SlayZone.
Do I pay for the AI agents?
SlayZone itself is free. The AI agent CLIs you run inside it (Claude Code, Codex, Gemini, etc.) are billed by their respective providers. SlayZone takes no cut and never sees your API keys — they stay in your shell environment.
